IRS Extends the 2020 Tax Filing Deadline

- Finding Forgiveness in the Payroll Protection Program - May 4, 2020
It was recently announced that tax day was moved from April 15 to July 15th. Thus, you have an extra three-months to file your tax return penalty free. Personally, I think you should still try to file by April 15th to avoid the rush and congestion on the internet. However, if you need to wait three more months, go for it.
Also, a new law was recently signed that will give all businesses, even some self employed businesses, extra payroll tax credits and credits for sick leave due to the Corona Virus or due to mandatory state quarantine. More on this will be posted when I have time to fully digest the new law.
